Telebasis garleppi (Montane Firetail)

Costa Rica is home to 10 Firetail species and this is one of the larger ones. We found these on both the ponds at the Reserva Curi Cancha.

The male’s combination of bright red abdomen with a mainly greenish thorax looks quite distinctive.
